Casey Counselling Trust

Public Update: 24 May 2026

From The Advocates – Kevin and Jenni Manning and Stuart and Karen Alsop

In light of the profound systemic failures and conflicts of interest surrounding Peter McHugh, as exposed in Mike Winger’s latest investigative report, the advocates have officially removed all application links to the Casey Charitable Trust from this platform. This protective measure will remain in place until absolute transparency and independent board restructuring are achieved.

We recognise that the revelation of Gary Morgan as a fake prophet, alongside the documented exposure of Peter McHugh as an enabler, has caused deep confusion and distress across our community. If you require assistance or clinical care pathways, please await further information.

Please be reassured that for anyone currently receiving assistance, we have no reason to believe your personal information has been compromised; to the best of our knowledge, it remains safe and confidential with the trustees.

We will communicate more information shortly.

The documentation below was distributed in May 2024 at the initiation of the original Casey Charitable Trust.

Dear Friends and Former Members of Casey City Church,

I write to you as part of fulfilling my final responsibilities with Casey City Church. Over the past year and a half, we have collectively faced the sobering truth of the harm caused under the leadership of Larry and Christa Sebastian. The revelations have been deeply troubling, and I acknowledge the pain, betrayal, and suffering experienced by so many within our church community.

The Casey Trust Fund has been established with one primary purpose: to assist those affected by emotional, psychological, or spiritual harm during their time at Casey City Church. It is our hope that this fund will provide a pathway toward healing and restoration for everyone impacted.

If you are receiving this letter and are yet unaware of the developments since May 2023, we encourage you to visit www.tovchurch.org. This website, provided by us as advocates, offers an overview of the Interim Elders’ findings delivered in November 2023, as well as ongoing updates and resources we believe will be helpful to survivors. Please note that the website is independent of the Casey Charitable Trust, which is managed by a separate and independent board.

Healing Together

As followers of Christ, we believe in the power of redemption and renewal, but we also know that healing often requires support from skilled professionals. The Trust Fund exists to help you access that support through counselling, therapy, or other professional care. This initiative is a tangible acknowledgment of the harm done and a commitment to help you take steps toward recovery.

The panel overseeing the Trust, composed of independent trustees and professionals, has ensured a confidential process for all applications. If you or someone you know has been affected, I urge you to apply for assistance.

We want to assure you that the operation of this Trust is entirely independent of Casey City Church, its leadership, and Larry and Christa Sebastian. At no point will they have access to application details or knowledge of who has applied. The Trust is committed to prioritising your privacy and safety.

Please share this opportunity with others who may need help, and spread the word so we can reach everyone who might benefit.

What You Need to Know

The Casey Charitable Trust Fund will remain active for up to three years, with resources available for verified professional sessions. If you’re already working with a practitioner, you can continue that relationship with financial assistance from the Trust. For those seeking a new counsellor, they can help you find the right professional.

The details for how to apply are included in this letter and on the supplied link.

Please take the time to read carefully and reach out if you have questions, either to Judith Wilke, or to one of us.

We want to emphasise that the Casey Charitable Trust operates independently from us, the advocates, and we have no influence over its structure or processes. The establishment of this Trust is a remarkable gift for all those affected, and we are deeply grateful for the significant efforts of the Interim Elders in bringing this to pass.

We (the advocates) are not provided access to the applications or any information about who has applied. However, if you would like to speak with any of us before submitting your application, please know that we are here for you. You can reach out to me, Jenni, Karen, or Stuart Alsop at any time.

Acknowledgment and Hope

The harm caused by Larry and Christa’s leadership cannot be undone, but it can be addressed. The courage of those who came forward during the investigation was vital in bringing the truth to light, and we honour your voices. To those who continue to carry wounds, know that you are seen, heard, and valued.

We pray that this Trust Fund, established by the external Interim Elders, provides you with the support needed for your restoration.

In Christ,

Kevin Manning
